10 Years Experience of Rhinoplasty with Osteotomies

Abstract
The subject of rhinoplasty offers the plastic surgeon endless artistic and technical challenges. Much progress has bee made, making it a currently widely used procedure. The rhinoplasty with osteotomies is a deliverate procedure, requiring not
only
experience but also accurate operative skill. In particular, the narrower operative field allowed by the typically smaller nasal bone of the oriental as compared to the larger nasal bone characteristic of the caucasian makes osteotomy more
difficult,
thus requiring a more refined operative technique. Endoscopic guided rhinoplasty, offering the advantage of direct visualization of the operative field, is one of many alternative methods rapidly diversifying the field of rhinoplasty. In
comparison, the
authors here report satisfactory results from a study of 10 years experience of rhinoplasty with medial & lateral osteotomies performed at Severance hospital using the classical method with intercartilaginous and transfixion incision.
